Dubai Taxi Company (DTC) has entered a major partnership with Keeta, the international division of Chinese delivery firm Meituan, to expand and modernise last-mile delivery services across the emirate. The agreement is set to introduce more efficient and sustainable methods for delivering goods, with future plans including the use of drones and autonomous vehicles.

This collaboration is a key part of DTC’s strategy to diversify beyond passenger transport and solidify its position in Dubai’s rapidly growing e-commerce and on-demand delivery sector. The company’s move into logistics is part of a wider trend, as seen with other firms like GWC acquiring a stake in the European technology and logistics scale-up Quivo.

Fleet Expansion and Market Growth

To launch the partnership, DTC will deploy an initial fleet of 150 delivery motorbikes, with plans to increase this number to 500 by the end of the year. The company anticipates generating Dh10 million in new revenue within the first year of the operation.

The initiative taps into a surging market. According to data from Statista, online food delivery revenues in the UAE are forecast to surpass Dh5 billion in 2025 and approach Dh6 billion by 2030. DTC’s existing delivery business is already experiencing significant growth, with its Q2 2025 revenues increasing by 102% year-on-year to Dh18.2 million. This growth was supported by a fleet of over 2,000 delivery bikes serving restaurants, retailers, and courier platforms.

A Vision for Future Logistics

Mansoor Rahma Alfalasi, CEO of Dubai Taxi Company, said the partnership aligns with Dubai’s vision for a connected and sustainable future. “Partnering with Keeta diversifies our services, maximises fleet potential, and puts DTC at the forefront of next-generation logistics, from advanced delivery bikes to drones and autonomous delivery technologies,” he stated.

Keeta will contribute its global experience and Meituan’s technology to support the UAE’s digital logistics goals. The collaboration will explore AI-driven delivery systems, autonomous mobility solutions, and drone-based logistics, which will be managed jointly with DTC.

“This collaboration combines DTC’s strong local presence with our world-class innovation to build a smart, efficient, and sustainable delivery ecosystem,” said Alex Wei, Logistics General Manager of Keeta Middle East.

The partnership signals a new phase for DTC as it evolves from a traditional taxi service into a provider of advanced logistics and mobility solutions. By merging Dubai’s strategic advantages with global technological expertise, DTC and Keeta aim to establish the city as a regional leader in smart delivery and logistics.
