We welcome high-quality pitches, op-eds, and community reports aligned with our editorial mission. Please review these guidelines before submitting.

Focus & Relevance

  • Coverage related to the Gulf region: politics, business, culture, technology, sports, and society.
  • Original reporting, strong analysis, clear argumentation, and credible sourcing.

Originality & Attribution

  • Submit only original work; disclose prior publication or simultaneous submissions.
  • Credit sources, data, and media appropriately. No plagiarism or undisclosed AI-generated text.

Style & Tone

  • Clear, compelling, and accessible writing with strong ledes and structure.
  • Maintain balance; avoid unfounded claims. Provide citations where applicable.

Conflicts of Interest

Disclose any financial, personal, or organizational relationships relevant to your submission.

Photos & Media

Include only media you own or are licensed to use, with captions and credits. Provide proof of rights if requested.

Rights & Licensing

  • Unless otherwise agreed in writing, contributors grant The Gulf Magazine a non-exclusive, worldwide license to publish, distribute, and promote the work in all formats.
  • For exclusive commissions or syndication, terms will be agreed prior to publication.

Editing & Fact-Checking

  • All submissions are subject to editorial review, fact-checking, and copy edits for clarity and style.
  • We may decline or request revisions at our discretion. Timelines vary with volume and news value.
