A delegation of 30 Russian companies, certified under the national ‘Made in Russia’ brand, will showcase a range of technologies at the upcoming Wetex exhibition in Dubai. The event, supported by the Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (Dewa), brings together global firms focused on sustainability and green infrastructure.
The Russian presence builds on a growing trade relationship with the UAE. Bilateral trade turnover reached $11.5 billion in 2024, an increase of nearly five per cent from the previous year. This trend accelerated in the first quarter of 2025, with a reported 76 per cent jump in trade, reflecting closer ties in energy and food security.
Following a successful showing in 2024, where their pavilion attracted high-level visitors, the 2025 delegation aims to build lasting partnerships based on innovation and sustainability.
A Focus on Technology and Sustainability
The ‘Made in Russia’ exposition will concentrate on solutions across four main sectors. In energy, companies will present wind power systems, smart switchgear, automation for factories, and engineering services for energy infrastructure.
Water treatment technologies will include high-efficiency filtration, reverse osmosis systems, and custom solutions for municipal and industrial use. For waste management, the focus is on artificial intelligence-powered systems, such as reverse vending machines and integrated recycling platforms designed to help recover valuable resources.
The fourth area covers agriculture and infrastructure, featuring indoor farming technology that uses less water, fleet tracking systems, heat-resistant insulation, and advanced fuel systems.
Notable participants include Akvatoriya LLC, a specialist in water filtration; Aquabright LLC, which exports high-performance filters to over 20 countries; and Emerald Ecotechnologies, known for its patented AQUACHLOR electrochemical disinfection systems.
Building Strategic Partnerships
The ‘Made in Russia’ certification is a government-backed programme that verifies production, quality control, delivery, and environmental standards to ensure reliability for export markets. For importers in the UAE, it signifies access to certified technologies from vetted partners.
Najibullo Jabbori, Chief Representative of the Russian national brand, stated that the goal at Wetex is to demonstrate the competitiveness of Russian companies and their commitment to sustainable development. “We are confident that ‘Made in Russia’ exposition will lay the foundation for new partnerships with businesses and government institutions in the UAE and across the Middle East,” he said, adding that the aim is to “shape an environmentally responsible and innovative future together.”
The increased presence at Wetex and other regional events signals a strategic effort to strengthen economic links between the two nations, with a clear focus on technology and sustainable growth.
