du Launches Cloud-Based Bitcoin Mining Service for UAE Residents
UAE telecom operator du has introduced a new platform, Cloud Miner, offering residents the opportunity to participate in Bitcoin mining through a secure, subscription-based service. Announced on November 2, 2025, the service is the first of its kind in the country, marking a significant step in the digital finance landscape of the UAE.
What is Cloud Miner?
Cloud Miner is a cloud-based platform that allows users to mine Bitcoin without the need for owning or maintaining mining hardware. Instead, users can rent computational power through the platform, eliminating the traditional barriers of hardware setup, electricity costs, and technical maintenance. This service is exclusively available to UAE residents, adhering to local regulations.
The platform was unveiled at a launch event held at the Burj Khalifa and will be accessible through an online auction on onlineauction.ae from November 3 to 9. The subscription model offers 250 terahashes per second (TH/s) of mining capacity for a 24-month period. Participants can start mining immediately after completing their subscription.
Local Compliance and Security Measures
In line with the UAE’s regulatory requirements, access to Cloud Miner is restricted to verified users. All participants must go through UAE Pass verification to meet the local Know Your Customer (KYC) and Anti-Money Laundering (AML) standards. Additionally, two-factor authentication is mandatory for account access, ensuring a high level of security for users.
The mining operations are hosted in data centres located within the UAE, which allows residents to mine Bitcoin while benefiting from local data protection laws and financial oversight.
Impact on UAE’s Digital Economy
Cloud Miner offers UAE residents a regulated way to engage in Bitcoin mining, providing an alternative to international mining services. This aligns with the country’s ongoing efforts to strengthen its blockchain and digital finance infrastructure. By offering a local solution to cryptocurrency mining, the service also opens up new avenues for individuals to participate in the digital asset economy.
This launch comes at a time when the UAE continues to position itself as a leader in embracing emerging technologies. As the demand for digital assets grows, Cloud Miner provides a transparent and accessible entry point for those looking to diversify their investment portfolios in a regulated environment.

By providing a locally regulated platform for mining Bitcoin, du is helping to shape a future where UAE residents can participate in the digital economy with greater confidence and security.
As this service grows, it could open the door to even more opportunities for cryptocurrency enthusiasts in the region, paving the way for further innovations in digital finance.
