Dubai Police has revealed its latest generation of autonomous patrols, the M01 and M02, showcasing the smart, self-driving vehicles at the Expand North Star event. Designed for surveillance and rapid response, the vehicles are part of a broader strategy to integrate artificial intelligence into the emirate’s security systems.

Equipped with advanced sensors, radars, and 360-degree cameras, the patrols can navigate smoothly through urban areas and open roads. Their deployment aims to enhance operational efficiency and expand smart security coverage in key locations across Dubai.

Innovation and Global Collaboration

Alongside the new vehicles, Dubai Police is launching five major innovation challenges to attract solutions from startups worldwide. These challenges, part of the Security Challenges Platform for Startups, focus on future crimes, autonomous vehicles, drones, data safety, and automatic number plate recognition.

Colonel Abdullah Jassim Al Zarouni, director of the Knowledge, Innovation and Development Centre, said the initiative reflects a commitment to building partnerships with entrepreneurs in modern technology to strengthen community security. Captain Dr Aisha Saeed Harib added that the centre’s strategy involves expanding cooperation with research institutions and emerging companies by providing an environment to test innovative ideas.

A Showcase of Advanced Technology

At the Dubai World Trade Centre, Dubai Police unveiled 12 groundbreaking innovations powered by artificial intelligence during GITEX Global 2025. The new technologies include smart systems, interactive digital platforms, and service robots designed to improve safety and public access to police services.

Major General Khalid Nasser Al Razooqi, Director of the General Department of Artificial Intelligence, stated that the force aims to highlight innovations that reinforce Dubai’s reputation as a safe and smart city. “The use of digital and smart systems has become essential to police work, whether in crime prevention, traffic management, or community services,” he said.

A key launch at the exhibition was “Dubai Police AIX,” a multilingual AI service that acts as a virtual consultant on the official police website. It answers user queries instantly and provides guidance on how to complete necessary services.

Visitors to GITEX, which also featured international exhibits such as the Cyprus innovation hub, experienced Dubai Police’s Immersive Digital Zone. The installation offered a virtual look into police life, featuring robot officers, scenes from the UAE SWAT Challenge, and an overview of the Smart Police Station (SPS), which operates without human intervention.

These initiatives align with Dubai’s strategy to build a world-class, fully digital government. Since beginning its AI journey in 2018, Dubai Police has developed a clear strategy that places technological innovation at the core of its operations.
