The inaugural UFC Fight Night in Doha has been declared a major success, with Visit Qatar announcing a sold-out event that drew more than 8,000 spectators to the Ali Bin Hamad Al Attiyah Arena on 22 November. The event, organised in partnership with the world’s leading mixed martial arts organisation, marks a significant milestone in the country’s efforts to expand its global sports calendar.

A Milestone for Qatar’s Sporting Calendar

The successful debut reinforces Qatar’s growing reputation as a premier destination for world-class sporting and entertainment events. The fight night attracted considerable international attention, with visitors travelling from Bahrain, the UAE, the United States, the United Kingdom, and Saudi Arabia to attend. This strong turnout highlights the nation’s appeal to a global audience and its capacity to host large-scale competitions. The event is a significant addition to a packed schedule of international gatherings, further solidifying Qatar’s status as a key hub for major events.

An Evening of Elite MMA Competition

The fight card delivered an action-packed evening, featuring a total of 14 highly competitive bouts involving 28 elite UFC athletes. The programme was split between eight preliminary fights and six main card contests, showcasing top talent across multiple weight divisions.

The evening culminated in a highly anticipated main event between Arman Tsarukyan and Dan Hooker. Audiences also witnessed compelling performances from other leading athletes, including Belal Muhammad and Ian Machado Garry. Other notable matchups included a light-heavyweight contest between Volkan Oezdemir and Alonzo Menifield, a welterweight bout between Jack Hermansson and Myktybek Orolbai, and a flyweight fight featuring Kyoji Horiguchi and Tagir Ulanbekov.
