The United Arab Emirates will host the first-ever Semicon Summit in Dubai from 9-10 December 2025, an event aimed at positioning semiconductors as a cornerstone of national power and economic independence. Held at the Sofitel Dubai The Obelisk, the summit will operate under the theme “From Circuit to Sovereignty,” gathering global industry leaders to discuss the critical role of microchips in the modern economy.

The Chip as a Sovereign Asset

In a global landscape marked by fractured supply chains and intense geopolitical competition, semiconductors have become a key measure of strategic influence. These components are vital for advancing artificial intelligence, securing energy grids, developing mobility solutions, and ensuring national security. The summit presents Dubai as a neutral meeting ground for ministers, sovereign investors, and leading chipmakers to shape the agenda for the next industrial age. This focus on future-proofing the economy aligns with a wider trend that has seen major firms like the Apparel Group launch its first residential project in Dubai, diversifying the nation’s investment portfolio.

Global Voices and Key Agendas

The two-day programme will feature a series of keynotes, strategic dialogues, and technology spotlights focused on sovereignty, resilience, and the future of the semiconductor industry. A number of prominent international companies are confirmed to participate, including Swissbit, Epson, Würth Elektronik, ams OSRAM, Energizer, and Renesas. They will be joined by Amphenol, Qorvo, Viking, and HOLTEK, alongside international policy leaders and government representatives.

Core Discussion Themes

Delegates will address a wide range of topics critical to the industry’s future. The agenda includes sessions on the geopolitics of silicon, the strategic role of sovereign capital in funding innovation, and technical deep dives into memory security, precision timing, energy storage, and connected mobility.

Charting the UAE’s Industrial Future

The summit is directly linked to the UAE’s ambitious national strategies, particularly Vision 2031 and the industrial growth plan known as Operation 300Bn. By placing semiconductors at the core of these initiatives, the UAE aims to build a resilient and technologically advanced industrial sector.

“The future belongs to nations that master the chip,” said Toni Mourad, Managing Director of McKinsey Electronics and Host of The Semicon Summit. “In Dubai, we are charting that future, positioning the UAE as both author and architect of the world’s semiconductor story.”

The event will conclude with the release of a communiqué outlining a shared roadmap for government, sovereign investors, and global industry partners. This declaration will affirm Dubai’s growing importance on the global semiconductor map and set a clear course for achieving long-term industrial resilience and sovereign capability.
