The Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) in Dubai has revealed plans for its 81st online vehicle number plate auction, set to offer 300 exclusive plates for both private and classic vehicle owners. The auction, which will take place from November 3, 2025, over five days, will feature plates from several series, including A, B, I, K, L, M, N, O, P, Q, R, S, T, U, V, W, X, Y, and Z.
How to Register and Participate
Registration for the auction opens on October 27, 2025. Interested bidders must register online before the auction begins. To participate, bidders are required to submit a security cheque of Dh5,000, made payable to the RTA, along with a non-refundable participation fee of Dh120. These payments can be made either online via credit card or in person at any of the RTA’s Customer Happiness Centres in Umm Ramool, Al Barsha, or Deira. All bids will be subject to a 5% Value Added Tax (VAT).
Bidding Process
Bidding for the exclusive plates will begin on November 3, 2025. The five-day auction allows participants to compete for their desired number plate codes. However, it is important to note that bidders must have an active traffic file in Dubai in order to qualify. The auction is expected to attract significant attention, given the exclusivity of the plates on offer, including rare combinations of digits.
Payment and Collection Details
Winning bidders will need to complete their payments within 10 working days after the auction closes. Payments can be made in cash (up to Dh50,000), via certified cheque, or by credit card for larger amounts. Payments can be processed either online or in person at RTA service centres.
