QNB Group has become a strategic partner for the Seventh Gulf Businesswomen Forum, which will be held in Doha on November 12-13 at the Mandarin Oriental Hotel. The agreement was formalised by Qatar Chamber acting general manager Ali Bu Sherbak al-Mansouri and QNB Group executive vice-president of SME Banking Ismail Mohamed al-Emadi. They were joined by Federation of GCC Chambers (FGCCC) secretary-general Saleh bin Hamad al-Sharqi and Qatar Chamber board member Ibtihaj al-Ahmadani, who also chairs the Qatari Businesswomen Forum.
The forum, organised by the FGCCC in collaboration with the Qatar Chamber and supported by the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) General Secretariat, carries the theme ‘Entrepreneurship and Investment Sustainability’. It aims to foster entrepreneurship and support sustainable investment among businesswomen in the GCC countries. The event will focus on supporting women’s participation in sustainable investment and encourage a transition from traditional business models to more innovative, digital, and knowledge-driven approaches that align with the region’s push towards a knowledge-based economy.
Forum’s Objectives and Focus
The Gulf Businesswomen Forum aims to be a platform for promoting the role of women in economic development and investment opportunities. It will feature discussions on the latest trends in entrepreneurship, with a particular focus on how women in the GCC can take advantage of digital advancements and sustainable practices to build their businesses. The forum also aims to provide a space for sharing insights, exploring investment opportunities, and fostering cooperation on future projects.
Qatar Chamber’s acting general manager, Ali Bu Sherbak al-Mansouri, expressed the value of QNB Group’s sponsorship, highlighting the bank’s ongoing commitment to empowering Qatari and Gulf women. “QNB’s sponsorship reflects the bank’s steadfast support for women’s economic empowerment, not only in Qatar but across the Gulf, as they play a vital role in the region’s economic transformation,” he said. The partnership between Qatar Chamber and QNB is expected to enhance the forum’s position as a leading platform for dialogue and networking among businesswomen in the region.
QNB’s Role and Strategic Sponsorship
QNB Group’s sponsorship provides a significant boost to the forum’s mission. It reflects the bank’s commitment to supporting female business owners across the GCC, helping them drive the region’s transition towards a knowledge economy. The sponsorship also underscores the bank’s ongoing partnership with the Qatar Chamber to promote innovation and digital entrepreneurship among women, aligning with Qatar National Vision 2030 and the broader sustainable development goals of GCC nations.
QNB’s involvement is not just a financial contribution but a strategic partnership aimed at addressing key challenges faced by women entrepreneurs in the Gulf. The bank’s participation highlights its role in fostering sustainable development and innovation across the region. This sponsorship adds value to the forum’s goal of promoting gender equality in business and enhancing women’s contribution to the GCC’s economic future.
The upcoming Gulf Businesswomen Forum is set to play a critical role in advancing these objectives, providing a vital space for women to collaborate, innovate, and drive forward the region’s economic goals.
