Morocco claimed victory at the 2025 Mena Karting Nations Cup, securing the championship title, while Lebanon finished in second place and Qatar took third. The event, hosted by the Qatar Motor & Motorcycle Federation (QMMF) at the Lusail Karting Track, saw over 170 drivers from 18 countries across the Middle East and North Africa compete for top honours.
A Commitment to Motorsports Growth in the Region
The competition, which marked the third consecutive year the QMMF has hosted the Mena Karting Nations Cup, concluded with an energetic closing ceremony that celebrated the talents of all participants. Abdulrahman bin Abdullatif al-Mannai, President of the QMMF and Lusail International Circuit, expressed pride in the event’s role in nurturing motorsport talent. He said, “Hosting the Mena Karting Championship Nations Cup for the third consecutive year reflects our ongoing commitment to nurturing motorsport talent across the region. This event provided young drivers with a platform to showcase their abilities, develop their skills, and pursue their dreams within a professional environment.”
Al-Mannai also extended appreciation to FIA President Mohammed Ben Sulayem for his continued support of youth development in motorsports.
Category Results at the Mena Karting Nations Cup
The championship featured several categories, with each race showcasing thrilling performances from emerging karting talent.
- Micro Max: Alex Moghabghab from Lebanon led the final with a time of 17 minutes 51.688 seconds. He was followed by Abdulaziz al-Sarraf (Kuwait) at 17 minutes 56.310 seconds and Linda Hanini (Tunisia) at 17 minutes 57.174 seconds.
- Mini Max: Morocco’s Nahyl El Gahoudi secured first place with a time of 13 minutes 39.266 seconds, just ahead of Atiqa Mir (UAE) at 13 minutes 40.537 seconds, and Tony Abou Jawdeh (Lebanon) at 13 minutes 45.727 seconds.
- Junior Max: Nathan Kappen from the UAE clocked 20 minutes 56.169 seconds to win, with Roslan Sryer (Algeria) following at 20 minutes 58.569 seconds, and Abdulrazzaq al-Quraishi (Saudi Arabia) finishing third at 21 minutes 05.947 seconds.
- Senior Max: Anis Tazi of Morocco led the final with a time of 20 minutes 56.775 seconds. Laith Mouminah (Saudi Arabia) finished second at 20 minutes 58.119 seconds, while Sanad al-Hamawi (Jordan) took third with a time of 20 minutes 59.699 seconds.
- DD2 and DD2 Masters: In the DD2 category, Hamza Hashisho (Qatar) emerged victorious with a time of 20 minutes 49.967 seconds, narrowly beating Edwin Khneisser (Lebanon) at 20 minutes 50.229 seconds and Ghali El Fechtali (Morocco) at 20 minutes 53.035 seconds. In the DD2 Masters final, Nadir Kabbage (Morocco) finished first, clocking 20 minutes 51.857 seconds, with Faisal Yafei (Qatar) in second and Salhi Sofiane (Algeria) in third.
- R390 Elite Sprint: Christopher Njeim from Lebanon dominated the sprint with a time of 21 minutes 32.054 seconds, followed by Matthias Njeim (Lebanon) at 21 minutes 37.207 seconds and Ahmad al-Hammadi (UAE) at 21 minutes 37.425 seconds.
- R390 Elite Endurance: The UAE team took first place, with Morocco and Oman finishing second and third, respectively.
