A Dubai resident has praised the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) for their prompt action in addressing a road hazard in Al Nahda. Raihan Hamid, a photographer, took to Instagram on October 9 to report a large pothole in the area. In his message, he highlighted the severity of the issue, warning that it could damage vehicles. The RTA swiftly responded, asking for further details, including Hamid’s name, address, and the exact location of the pothole.

By the following day, Hamid received confirmation that his complaint had been registered and forwarded to the relevant department. Just 11 days later, on October 20, he shared an update on Instagram with a photo showing that the pothole had been repaired. “This is Dubai. 🇦🇪 A city that listens, acts, and truly cares. I reported a road issue in Al Nahda and within just 11 days, RTA fixed it. That’s not just efficiency, that’s responsibility in action. Proud to call this city home,” Hamid wrote, expressing his satisfaction with the swift response.

The RTA is known for its quick resolution of issues raised by residents. Last year, the authority also addressed a noise complaint from a resident in the Serena Community, where late-night roadworks had been disturbing locals. After the issue was posted on social media, the RTA promptly acknowledged it and offered a solution.

This incident comes as the RTA celebrates its 20th anniversary. The authority marked the occasion by reflecting on its journey of progress and innovation. “On the twentieth anniversary of the establishment of the Roads and Transport Authority, we celebrate a journey of work and innovation, and everyone who has been part of our path toward a more connected and advanced future,” they said in a social media post.

Dubai’s RTA continues to play a pivotal role in ensuring the city’s infrastructure remains responsive to the needs of its residents. The authority’s efficient handling of complaints, coupled with its dedication to improving urban living, highlights its commitment to creating a more connected and sustainable future.
