Dubai Police and Parkin PJSC have partnered to integrate their traffic management and smart parking systems, a move that will allow officers to identify vehicles with outstanding fines or seizure orders as soon as they use the company’s facilities. The new connection enables police to take swift legal action and helps detect vehicles wanted in criminal or traffic cases, supporting efforts to maintain road safety across the emirate.

Digital Integration Formalised at GITEX

The collaboration was cemented with a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed at the GITEX Global 2025 event held at the Dubai World Trade Centre. The agreement aims to achieve full digital integration between the two entities, ensuring seamless data sharing and improving the efficiency of services. The MoU was signed by Brigadier Issam Ibrahim Al Awar, Acting Director of the General Department of Traffic at Dubai Police, and Engineer Mohamed Abdullah Al Ali, CEO of Parkin. The signing comes as Dubai Police unveils 12 AI innovations at Gitex Global 2025, highlighting the force’s focus on technological advancement.

Brigadier Al Awar stated that the agreement reflects Dubai Police’s commitment to strengthening cooperation with public and private entities, in line with the directives of Lieutenant General Abdullah Khalifa Al Marri, Commander-in-Chief of Dubai Police.

Enhancing Traffic Management and Safety

The partnership will allow both organisations to use advanced technologies to manage traffic and parking more effectively. According to Brigadier Al Awar, the direct link between the systems will facilitate the instant and secure exchange of information. This will help improve traffic flow, support better urban planning, and enhance decision-making based on accurate, real-time data.

“This project is a big step forward for road safety in Dubai,” said Brigadier Al Awar. He explained that the system will improve monitoring, ensure greater compliance with traffic laws, and reduce the number of vehicles with unpaid fines on the road. These outcomes are expected to contribute significantly to creating a safer city.

A Commitment to a Smarter City

Engineer Mohamed Abdullah Al Ali, CEO of Parkin, expressed pride in the new partnership. “Together, we aim to make parking and traffic management smarter, safer, and more efficient for everyone,” he said. Al Ali added that the collaboration underscores Parkin’s dedication to innovation and its support for Sheikh Mohammed’s vision: Dubai to host world’s largest tech and AI event in 2026.

This strategic integration of public safety and parking infrastructure represents a practical application of smart city principles. By leveraging technology to streamline law enforcement and improve civic services, the initiative aligns with Dubai’s broader goals of becoming one of the world’s most advanced and sustainable urban centres.
