A new Guinness World Record was set at Beautyworld Middle East 2025 after a team of 48 barbers performed 190 beard trims and shaves in a single hour. The coordinated effort, which took place at the Dubai World Trade Centre, established a brand-new category in the official record books.
Mohammed Nour Adwan, a visitor who stopped for a quick grooming session, found himself unexpectedly part of the historic moment. “I just thought it would be a regular beard trim,” Adwan said. “But then people started cheering, cameras were flashing, and I realized something big was happening. I was part of a world record.”
A Record-Breaking Grooming Session
The event, organised under the BeautyLive by Fresha banner in collaboration with STMNT Grooming, brought together professional barbers from across the GCC and Lebanon. They worked in pairs across 24 grooming stations, with one stylist and one assistant at each. Visitors to the exhibition could register on-site for a complimentary professional beard service and contribute to the record attempt.
The atmosphere in the hall grew with intensity as music played and cameras documented every trim. With each completed shave, the crowd cheered the team closer to their goal. Every action was meticulously timed and monitored by an official adjudicator to ensure compliance with the strict guidelines of Guinness World Records.
By the Numbers: A New Category
The organisers worked directly with Guinness World Records to define and establish this new title, making the achievement a pioneering one. The team’s efficiency was remarkable, completing 190 grooming services in 60 minutes. This breaks down to an average of one beard trim every 19 seconds, with each barber attending to approximately four people during the hour.
After a tense countdown and careful verification of the results, the official announcement confirmed their success. “All the guidelines and rules were adhered to,” the adjudicator declared. “Congratulations. The most consecutive beard shaves or trims completed in one hour by a team is 190.” The diverse team of stylists reflected the international character often seen at major events in Dubai.
More Than Just a Record
For the participating barbers, the event was a powerful display of professional unity and skill. “This moment is huge for us,” said Khaled Kabboul from Director’s Cut. “To stand shoulder to shoulder with 47 other barbers, all working in perfect sync, was incredible.” He added that the record helped demonstrate that barbering is “a form of art, skill, and community.”
Amir Manzour of Mantis Barbershop described it as one of the proudest moments of his career. “Being here, part of something this historic, means a lot,” Manzour explained. “We trimmed and shaved nonstop for an hour. It was intense, but also deeply fulfilling. You could feel the unity and passion in that room.”
The successful attempt not only secured a place in the record books but also celebrated the craftsmanship and collaborative spirit of the region’s top grooming professionals on an international stage.
