The General Directorate of Residency and Foreigners Affairs in Dubai (GDRFA) recently hosted its “Guest of the Director” customer forum, an initiative designed to gather public feedback and improve its services. The event provided a platform for direct engagement between officials and the community.
Brigadier General Khalaf Ahmed Al Ghaith, Assistant Director General for the Entry and Residency Permits Sector, met with a diverse group of participants. Attendees included senior citizens, people of determination, university students, owners of Amer service centres, and long-standing customers.
A Collaborative Approach
During the interactive session, the GDRFA outlined several key services, including sponsorship file management, residency renewals, and passport updates. Participants were invited to share their experiences and offer suggestions on how these processes could be made simpler, faster, and more responsive to their needs.
Officials emphasised that the forum reflects Dubai’s broader philosophy of co-creation, which treats customers as active partners in designing public services. This approach aims to translate community feedback into actionable improvements, enhancing quality of life and strengthening public trust in government institutions.
“At GDRFA Dubai, we ensure that the customer’s voice is at the heart of everything we do,” said Brig. Gen. Al Ghaith. “This forum is a reflection of our belief that great services are born from listening, from understanding people’s real needs and aspirations. Our goal is to make Dubai’s services not only smart and efficient, but also deeply human.”
The “Guest of the Director” forum reaffirms the department’s commitment to innovation and service excellence. By encouraging collaboration and dialogue, the GDRFA continues to support Dubai’s reputation as a global example for proactive, human-centred government.
