Basil Al-Hakami took over DAR Engineering in Riyadh to run engineering design, project management, and construction supervision across power grids, municipal utilities, and commercial real estate facing intensifying pressure from rapid urban growth.
The Riyadh-based consultancy employs 1,819 staff. It sells engineering design, project management consultancy, and site supervision directly to state entities and private developers handling power distribution, water networks, and mixed-use property developments.
Al-Hakami previously managed turnkey substation units at ABB and Linxon. His live test is coordinating multidisciplinary teams across simultaneous power, wastewater, and transport tenders in Saudi Arabia without delivery delays.
